Problem Statement
Rosen Publishing urgently need a replacement as their scheduling software was about to expire. The current catalog production process was also cumbersome and ineffective, requiring that data be entered into a limited, "flat" database only after the catalog had already been produced. Enter yours truly, our intrepid UX/UI designer, who took on the duty of not only creating a new scheduling system but also developing the database system to assist the entire workforce. I developed a solution that allowed Rosenworx to save the firm time and money across numerous divisions while receiving high praise from the staff by working with many teams and demonstrating a thorough grasp of user demands.
Main Features
My Roles
As a crucial member of the team, I carried out UX discovery, definition, design, development, and delivery. I worked with the other members of my team to make sure each feature was well-designed, easily accessible and efficiently delivered as part of my role in the project.
Deliverables
I provided numerous key documents and prototypes throughout the project, including the proto-persona, surveys, usability testing plans and testing data, affinity diagrams, user personas and insights, empathy maps, user journey maps, competitor analyses, site maps, style guides, lo-fi and hi-fi prototypes, and prototype testing.
Tools
I used a number of tools, including FileMaker, Adobe XD, Photoshop, Acrobat, BB Edit, and MS Word to assure the delivery of high-quality, effective design.
Discover
To make sure that the Rosenworx database satisfied the company's expanding and constantly evolving needs, I conducted extensive research, primarily through user meetings and focus groups. Sprints generally had to last no longer than a week due to the fast-paced development environment, allowing us to react rapidly to modifications that were required.
Define
As the sole UX/UI designer ,it was my responsibility to undertake research to make sure the Rosenworx database could accommodate the needs of the organization, which were always changing. Meetings, focus groups, and frequent user testing were the main components of my strategy, which allowed me to gain important insights from significant stakeholder groups. Using this strategy, we were able to react swiftly to any adjustments that were required and guarantee that the project remained on track.
I meticulously oversaw the ideation process, facilitating brainstorming meetings and developing functional wireframe prototypes for user testing. I designed and developed UI elements, and worked with my team to decide element position and functionality using card sorting and other techniques. With the help of my agile methodology and routine user testing, I was able to quickly adapt to the company's changing needs by developing numerous modules that reduced workloads and optimized operations all across the organization. Employees from all departments may now simply and securely access, enter, and export data based on their security level and job title as a direct result of my efforts.
Furthermore, Rosenworx's robust browser-based WAN system, which I developed using HTML, PHP, and JQuery, gave users immediate access to the main capabilities of the original scheduling and catalog development software in addition to many additional features, saving the business a significant amount of time and money. Users gave Rosenworx's powerful and effective technology high marks.
